Well folks we made it to Alabama after a wonderful weekend spent with the family in PA. The trip however was a little rougher than expected.
It's only 13 hours from PA to Alabama - a piece of cake compared to our usual 26 hour trek to TX straight through. We only planned for one day of driving because we had a walk thru on our house the next day in the morning. I saw nothing wrong with this plan until I realized somewhere around Roanoke, VA that there would be no trading off on drivers as Erick and I were driving two separate cars. In the words of Ron Burgundy, I immediately regretted this decision.
Besides being completely fatigued from driving we had to deal with torrential downpours the ENTIRE way. It was raining so hard in some parts that we could not see to drive - so needless to say - that lengthened our driving time considerably. (It also contributed to more frequent potty breaks for myself - no need to think of Niagara Falls when the entire sky is falling!!)
Do YOU have to go yet?
After 15 hours we finally made it to Prattville, and let me tell you that LaQuinta was the best thing I had ever seen in my life. We also have a jacuzzi tub and a king sized bed in our hotel room so it made it even more sweet.
I wanted to take it with me when we checked out
I'll post more about the house when we get settled in our new place.

I HATE driving in rain storms! Denis is a witness to this. It makes me so tired because I get all frozen up and stressed out. I'm sorry, that doesn't sound like any fun at all. But I'm glad you're moving into your new house, fun!
That's sounded grueling! I'm glad you made it though. I can't wait to see pictures of the house.
I'm so glad that you guys made it there okay! Oh, I would hate that, especially driving separately. Well, at least it's over and you can focus on working your magic on your new home. Miss you guys.
Sorry the trip was rough! For me on long drives, I don't mind an occasional thunder/rain storm. Keeps me awake! But to have it almost the whole time, wowsers!
